New Jobs Training Programs

The Iowa Industrial New Jobs Training Program and Iowa Jobs Training Program are also administered by Iowa Central Community College

The Iowa Industrial New Jobs Training Program assists eligible businesses by providing employee training for newly created jobs.  Expanding and relocating businesses may be eligible for a credit of up to one year at 50 percent of annual gross payroll costs expended for on-the-job training.  A corporate tax credit may also be available to companies that enter into a 260E agreement and increase employment by at least 10 percent in Iowa.

The Iowa New Jobs Training Program helps fund customized training for current employees in Iowa.  Job training services may include any training needed to enhance the performance of a business' employees.

Iowa Central Community College

Iowa Central Community College has a branch campus in Webster City and its main campus less than 25 miles away.  Iowa Central offers job training programs, certification classes, and two year degree programs that serve the following areas:

  • Advanced Manufacturing

  • Computer Technology Training

  • Homeland Security

  • Industrial Safety

  • Industrial Technology, including CAD

  • Professional Skills Development

  • Quality Systems and Productivity

  • Transportation Training

Additionally, Iowa Central can work with individual companies to develop specific job training programs at little to no cost to the employer.

Buena Vista University

Iowa State University

With nine colleges and more than 100 undergraduate degrees, Iowa State University provides exceptional education opportunities for the Iowa workforce and is located just 40 miles from Webster City.  Visit Iowa State University for more information.  Additionally, Iowa State University is home to the Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS), the Institute for Physical Research and Technology (IPRT) and the Iowa Manufacturing Extension Program (IMEP)

University of Northern Iowa

The University of Northern Iowa is located one hour east of Webster City on Highway 20 and provides a variety of degree programs for both undergraduates and graduates.  Learn more.
